Robots that help when seconds matter.
At University of Waterloo MedTechResolve, we envision a future where advanced robotics enhance public safety and emergency response. Our interdisciplinary design team is dedicated to translating research into practical tools that meet real-world needs.
Recent highlights include a 2nd Place + Audience Award at the Form & Function Challenge (covered by CTV News) for a soft actuator with built-in vital-sign detection designed for safe and conformative disaster-site triage, helping first responders prioritize care. We also earned 3rd Place for our RCareWorld assistive dressing robot.
Right now, we’re focused on an autonomous drowning-search robot that accelerates the locate-and-rescue window on open water.
